Hi folks.I'm reinstalling a family members laptop. It came preloaded with Windows XP Media Center 2005 and still has the serial number on the bottom of the chasis. He has no restore disks so I bagged what I believed to be the correct ISO's from MSDN so I could perform a reinstall, but it simply will not let me put the serial number in to progress the installer.It appears there are no corporate 'builds' of Media Center so that's not my problem.
Is there something I'm missing out on here? This is something I've done many times in the past to do clean installs for people but must admit this is my first time with XP Media Center. Any advice?Luckily I do still have the old HDD (upgraded him to an SSD) so can boot that up and run a serial number gathering tool to make sure they match up with what's on the label.Cheers.
